Rare Busways High-Floor O405 in route Service! - Busways 577. Join me for a ride on Busways’ 577, a 1999 step-entry Mercedes Benz O405 with a Custom Coaches 510 body. Since 2023, high-floor (step-entry) buses have been prohibited from operating route service, but Busways don’t seem to care, as they have been known to regularly replace low-floor buses with high-floors since the 2023 DDA regulations came into place. It’s not unusual for this to happen, however it’s impossible to know when a high-floor will operate a route service, as it’s unpredictable since it’s always a last minute replacement. 577 was operating route 746 from Route Hill too, which made it rarer since most instances of a high-floor in route service post-2023 have been in the middle of nowhere, with Rouse Hill being a major Busways location. As mentioned, it’s completely unpredictable, simply a matter of being in the right place at the right time, where I just so happened to be on this day. Filmed on the 24th of March 2025
