RAILS IN THE DALES & CORNISH CLAY
Well known veteran railway photographer Phil Waterfield built Malham as a permanent layout for his own enjoyment and Corwenna for exhibition purposes. A description of each is included in this video but briefly, Malham is an imaginary Pennine branch as might have been built by the Midland Railway. Corwenna could hardly be based on a more distant line…in Cornwall. This model was inspired by the Wenfordbridge Branch which served the china clay industry in the region. Full details of the Malham layout may be found in the September 2017 issue of BRM (British Railway Modelling) whilst the Corwenna layout featured in the August 2017 issue of BRM.
