GM 70s.-early 80s cruise control transducer explained in layman's terms
If your cruise doesn't work on your fine GM machine maybe this will help. After reading my factory Cadillac manuals and understanding how the transducer works, I felt I would try to explain as I can in layman's terms to aid in better diagnosis of what/where the problem may be. If you're like me, was confusing as hell, yet after understanding, not that bad to diagnose. Several systems at play: mechanical, magnetism, Vacuum, and electronic. When functioning as designed, the system works amazing! there are some variations to these units but the generalities apply to them all at this production run. By all means, if you have a question, please message or comment! As always thanks and subscribe!
