Um novo mês não vai mudar sua vida — Só Deus pode | 1 Tessalonicenses 5:18 — DIA 253

In today's Bible study, we depart from the sequence of Psalms to reflect on a powerful message from God in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” The arrival of a new month is often surrounded by many declarations. We give thanks because the previous month is over. We declare that the new month will be better. We create expectations that the change of date will produce a change in our lives. But where, truly, is our hope? Often, we give thanks for the end of a month with a feeling of heaviness and relief, as if the struggles had been greater than the God who sustained us throughout the journey. We say: “Thank goodness it’s over.” “May this month be different.” “Now everything will get better.” But a new month does not have the power to transform our lives. The change of the calendar doesn't heal the heart. The passing of days doesn't fill voids. A new date doesn't change what only God can touch. When we place the expectation that everything will be different on a month, a year, a phase, or a circumstance, we may be transferring to the calendar a hope that belongs only to the Lord. God needs to occupy His true place in our lives. He is our source of hope. He is our source of joy. He is our security. He is the one who sustains our lives every day, month, and season. Biblical gratitude doesn't mean denying struggles. Nor does it mean pretending that difficulties don't exist. "Give thanks in all circumstances" means recognizing that, even amidst the processes, God remained present, faithful, and sustaining our lives. Perhaps the month was difficult. Perhaps you cried, faced losses, fatigue, uncertainties, or battles that no one noticed. But you made it this far. God sustained you. The Lord's grace remained. His mercy was renewed. There were deliverances you witnessed and many others you never even noticed. Therefore, we have more reason to be thankful than to complain, even though we often forget this. Today's question isn't just: "What do I expect from this new month?" The real question is: "Who is occupying the throne of my hope?" It's not the month that needs to be new. It's our minds that need to be renewed. It's our hearts that need to return to God. It's our perception that needs to awaken to recognize that the Lord's goodness was already present throughout the journey. In this study, we reflect on: • the true meaning of “give thanks in all circumstances” • the difference between gratitude and relief at the end of a phase • the danger of placing hope in dates, months, and circumstances • God as the only source of hope, joy, and transformation • the need to recognize the Lord's daily sustenance • the many reasons we have to be grateful • the importance of returning God to the central place in our lives A new month cannot change everything. But God can. May our gratitude not be tied to the calendar, and may our hope not depend on a new date. May God be the beginning, the center, and the source of everything in us. 📖 House of the Word 🔥 Seek • Live • Teach 🔔 Subscribe to the channel and follow our daily Bible studies.
