Bị viêm loét dạ dày nên ăn gì? Ăn thế nào là đúng cách để tốt cho dạ dày?
Information provided by Dr. Phan Nguyen Thanh Binh - Head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital. Gastric and duodenal ulcers are the most common gastrointestinal diseases, with an alarming increase in Vietnam, where up to 70% of the population has risk factors. The disease can cause severe digestive and absorption disorders and lead to dangerous complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding, gastric perforation, or pyloric stenosis. Diet plays a crucial role in conjunction with treatment to minimize symptoms and improve digestive function and nutritional status. So, what should people with gastric ulcers eat for good health? Below is advice from Dr. Phan Nguyen Thanh Binh - Head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital. People with stomach ulcers should eat bananas. Bananas are at the top of the list of stomach-friendly foods because of their ability to neutralize excess acid levels in gastric juice and reduce inflammation. Bananas are one of the fruits with a high carbohydrate content, providing energy; their high potassium content helps compensate for deficiencies if the patient has diarrhea or vomiting; and their soluble fiber pectin is beneficial for people with digestive disorders, constipation, and diarrhea. People with stomach ulcers should eat rice. Rice is soft, easy to digest, and avoids stimulating the stomach to secrete more acid; it helps reduce stomach pain, can absorb fluids in the stomach, and reduces the risk of diarrhea. The same applies to sticky rice, bread, rice cakes, porridge, potatoes, etc. Note that unprocessed foods like brown rice, corn, brown glutinous rice, or various types of beans... are rich in fiber, vitamins (especially B vitamins), minerals, and antioxidants. While very good for health, they are difficult to digest for people with stomach problems. People with stomach ulcers should eat bread. Bread is also a good choice from the carbohydrate group, low in fat, and easy to digest. However, avoid butter and jam until your stomach is healthier. People with stomach ulcers should eat soup. Soup with cooked, soft foods does not put "pressure" on the digestive system, and the high water content helps dilute the acid concentration in gastric juices, making it easier for patients to digest food. For stomach ulcers, drink apple juice. Apple juice is easy to digest and rich in nutrients, with its soluble fiber pectin promoting stomach and intestinal function, preventing diarrhea and constipation. For stomach ulcers, drink coconut water. Coconut water is rich in electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and calcium, helping to replenish deficiencies due to poor eating habits or to compensate for losses after diarrhea or vomiting. For stomach ulcers, eat yogurt. Yogurt contains many probiotics and enzymes that support the digestive system and boost immunity. There are conflicting opinions about using yogurt for stomach pain; in reality, non-fat yogurt can be helpful in most cases, acting as a buffer on the mucous membrane and reducing stomach irritation. However, you should start with small amounts and monitor your body's reaction to adjust accordingly. For stomach ulcers, drink herbal tea. Most herbal teas (caffeine-free) help regulate the digestive system, preventing discomfort and bloating. Chamomile tea also helps improve inflammation. For stomach ulcers, eat ginger. Ginger can help improve digestive function and reduce symptoms of stomach pain, bloating, and indigestion. You can add ginger to your daily diet by drinking ginger tea or nibbling on a few slices of raw ginger. Okra Okra contains many vitamins B, C, E, and other nutrients. Most notably, the mucilage in okra is a complex of proteins bound together by polysaccharides, pectin, and other substances. These substances help protect the stomach lining, prevent damage to the stomach lining, and support the healing of ulcers. It is recommended to eat turmeric and honey. A mixture of turmeric powder and honey is a key traditional medicine remedy for treating gastritis and peptic ulcers. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory effects, reduces gastric acid secretion, and alkalizes gastric acid levels. Honey helps regulate stomach acid levels, preventing stomach irritation. It is recommended to eat nutrient-rich foods containing vitamins A, B, D, K, folic acid, calcium, iron, zinc, and magnesium: these are abundant in grains, red and dark green vegetables, and should be increased in the diet to improve vitamin and mineral deficiencies caused by poor digestion and absorption in peptic ulcer disease. -------------------- Subscribe to follow the latest health videos at: / @vinmechospital Contact Vinmec: Fanpage: / vinmec Website: https://www.vinmec.com TikTok: / benhvienvinmec Vinmec Hospital System nationwide: https://vinmec.com/vi/danh-...
