35 Years of Painting – An Honest Talk
In this over one-hour video, I speak openly and without filter about my life as an artist, my views on society, and my personal journey over the past decades. I look back at the 1990s and early 2000s, talk about my time in the graffiti scene, my artistic path, and how my perspective on the world has changed over 35 years of painting. This video is to be understood as an artwork in itself — a raw and authentic documentation of my current state of mind. Like all my statements, texts and videos, this conversation is also part of my artistic practice. SEAK Claus Winkler is an independent German contemporary artist based in Cologne. Since the early 1990s, he has consistently developed his distinctive letter-based style. Originally coming from the graffiti scene, he now mainly works on large-scale paintings. In recent weeks I have also regularly posted large amounts of new visual material in the Community tab, usually around 10 images per post, showing finished works, works in progress, sketches and studio views.
