Black Rock Park | LCRA Texas Hill Country RV Campground This week we share our visit to Black Rock Park near Lake Buchanan, Texas. Built in 1939, Black Rock Park is owned and operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). It was one of the first recreational parks built by the LCRA after the building of the historic Buchanan Dam and Lake Buchanan. Lake Buchanan is the first of 6 Highland Lakes in the Central Texas Hill Country. The Highland Lakes follow the Colorado River as it meanders through Central Texas. They provide flood control, drinking water, hydroelectric power and recreation to the local communities and visitors. In this video, we share a bit of the history of the Buchanan Dam, Lake Buchanan, the LCRA and Black Rock Park. We also share the RV camping experience at Black Rock Park, park amenities and places that we visited in the area.
