Our Bright trip got cancelled by bushfires and 47-degree heat. The backup plan? Omeo. And it turned out to be the best riding we've ever done. Jake and Dad were planning 3 days in Bright, but every trail closed due to extreme conditions. We pivoted to Omeo — a tiny town with trails built by the Common Ground team led by Jordon Virgl. Gravity Dirt Co (Dan & Lucy) shuttled us up, and local groms Charlie and George showed us around their home trails. What was supposed to be a side trip became the main event. And yes, there's a 40ft road gap involved.
