FIGHT CLUB SANDWICH RECEIVING THEIR AWARD FOR MOST INSPIRED PROP FROM DVMISSION FOUNDER JINX PROWSE. ANIMATION BY GLEN JEVON. - DVMISSION is a 48-hour film competition based on the south coast of the UK that has for the last 20 years been challenging filmmakers to get creative and join a local community of media makers. Having just staged our 20th edition we can stake a claim to being the longest, continuously running 48-hour film challenge in the UK. How does it work - we give challengers a line of dialogue, a title and a genre and they make a 2-minute film in 48 hours. We then get our judges to award the coveted Pompey Oscars for 16 categories of prizes. DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge celebrated its 21st edition with 33 teams competing to create original 2-minute short film across the challenge weekend. The completed films were screened at a gala event which celebrated 100 years of Portsmouth City with a suitably naughty night of nautical fun, in keeping with this year’s obstructions: Title: Pirates! In an Adventure with... [YOUR CHOICE] Genre: Adventure Dialogue 1: “From the north end to the south sea, hear them cry: POMPEY 100!” Dialogue 2: “That is classic, that is. Classic pirate behaviour.” Obstruction for previous winners: You must include a ship’s figurehead. We also continue to acknowledge any film that passes the Bechdel Test! We asked teams to post their behind the scenes photos and videos using the hashtag #DVMISSION26 and you can use this hashtag on any social media channel to see the results. The films premiered 7pm at The Wedgewood Rooms on March 7 2026 along with a night of live music from The Captain’s Beard throughout. This year, teams competed for 1 of 16 pieces of 8 – the stunning new awards crafted by James Waterfield, Lawn of the Dead.
