The Best Hike in Arches National Park - The Fiery Furnace
The best hike in Arches National Park - The Fiery Furnace Arches National Park is amazing, and this is my favorite hike in the entire park. (Devil's Garden is a close second.). The Fiery Furnace is just a natural playground for people who love the outdoors. I'm not going into details on this since they cover most details in the mandatory orientation. But there are a few things I want to cover. #1 - You need to be very comfortable with wayfinding to do the self guided tour. GPS's help, but in some areas the canyon walls are so tall they'll block the satellite signal. So you need to keep track of where you are and where you want to go. The Fiery Furnace covers 300 acres, so there's plenty of space to get lost in. #2 - It's not technical (unless you've made a big mistake), but there are some areas where scrambling is required or there is some minor exposure. This is not a paved walkway, it's a literal maze carved into the rocks. If you are unsure if you could find your way, they offer a ranger guided tour that will probably be more appropriate. And that's it. Not because I've covered everything, but because I deleted the previous description that I wrote by accident and I don't feel like retyping everything. What can I say? You get what you pay for here at the Jerry Arizona channel. Anyway, if you haven't gone to the Fiery Furnace, put it on your list. Right above Devil's Garden Trail.
