Conheça SANTO AMARO DA IMPERATRIZ na Grande Florianópolis

We started a new season exploring the cities surrounding Florianópolis. And the first stop was Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, about 35 km from the capital of Santa Catarina. Close enough for a day trip, but far enough to completely change the pace. We woke up while it was still dark to climb Morro do Queimado, with its 694 meters of altitude, and watch the sunrise overlooking Greater Florianópolis. From up there, the feeling is clear. Nature, silence, and a different pace of life. With just over 27,000 inhabitants, Santo Amaro holds an important historical title. It was the first hydro-mineral resort in Brazil. Its thermal waters, which reach 39°C, have attracted visitors since the 19th century, including Dom Pedro II, who passed through the city in 1845. To this day, the traditional Carrara marble bathtubs are part of this history. We walked through the city center, past the church and the square, showed the Cubatão River that runs through and borders the city, and explored its strong connection with nature. The municipality is located within the largest conservation unit in Santa Catarina, the Serra do Tabuleiro State Park, which reinforces its potential for ecotourism, hiking, rafting, and even paragliding. We also discussed the population, growth, and local real estate market. Prices per square meter, houses in the city center, and higher-end properties help to understand how the city is positioning itself within the Greater Florianópolis region. Santo Amaro da Imperatriz opens this new phase of the channel, showing that, just a few kilometers from Florianópolis, there are completely different realities waiting to be discovered. And this is just the first city on this new journey.
