JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced that President Prabowo has accepted the resignation letter from Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, which was submitted voluntarily for personal reasons. The government also expressed its appreciation for Perry Warjiyo's dedication during his approximately seven years leading Bank Indonesia. The President will then issue a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding his honorable dismissal in accordance with statutory provisions. Prasetyo Hadi explained that, based on the Bank Indonesia Law, the position of BI Governor will be temporarily held by Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti until a permanent governor is appointed. The appointment process for the new governor will follow the established mechanism, with the candidate being proposed by the President and subject to approval from the House of Representatives (DPR). The government also emphasized that coordination between Bank Indonesia and the government will continue to maintain monetary stability, the payment system, and the stability of the national financial system.
