The three DPRD members named in this case are Veronika Lake from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Therensius Lazakar from the Golkar Party, and Robertus Bani from the National Awakening Party (PKB). The three officials are suspected of intimidating Dr. Icha while she was on duty at Leona Kefamenanu Regional Hospital on June 13, 2026. The incident allegedly caused severe psychological stress, leading to her death at her parents' home on Friday, June 26, 2026. The PDI-P Central Executive Board (DPP) confirmed that it would impose strict sanctions, including dismissal, if Veronika Lake is proven to have committed a violation. Meanwhile, the Golkar Party's Central Executive Board (DPP) has ordered the Golkar Regional Executive Board (DPD) at the provincial level to summon Therensius Lazakar and seek clarification from him. Golkar Secretary General Sarmuji emphasized that public officials must exercise their authority proportionally. Meanwhile, the PKB faction of the TTU Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) supports law enforcement officials in thoroughly investigating the alleged intimidation involving one of its members. PKB faction chairman Melki Lopez also expressed his condolences for the death of Dr. Icha. Meanwhile, the TTU DPRD's Ethics Council will summon the three council members for an ethics investigation. If found guilty, they face sanctions ranging from a warning to dismissal from their positions. The Ethics Council also emphasized that if any criminal elements are found during the investigation, the results will be submitted to law enforcement officials for processing according to applicable regulations.
