Meghalaya - The Beautiful India You’ve Never Heard Of! 🇮🇳

In this video, I'll show you a part of India that you won't believe is India. Meghalaya is a lush and incredibly scenic state in northeastern India. Its name means "Abode of Clouds" in Sanskrit—and it really lives up to that name. Think misty hills, waterfalls plunging through dense forests, and villages that feel almost untouched by time. We'll visit Mawlynnong, often celebrated as the "cleanest village in Asia". This picturesque village is known for its spotless pathways, eco-friendly practices, and strong community participation in maintaining cleanliness. The residents follow strict waste management rules, use bamboo dustbins, and emphasize composting and organic farming. It's also home to Cherrapunji & Mawsynram - the wettest spots on Earth. There'll be incredible waterfalls, as well as the amazing the living root bridges - Actual bridges made from the aerial roots of rubber trees, shaped over decades by the Khasi and Jaintia people. Nongriat near Cherrapunji has the famous double-decker root bridge which we'll hike 3500 steeps steps to reach! Then there's the beautiful Dawki River, near the Bangladesh border—this river is so clear, boats look like they’re floating in air. It's a fantastic place, and a place that mainly just sees local tourism at present.
