The city has a rich cultural heritage, and a rich history of architectural design, including the Marischal College that you will see in today’s tour, which is the second largest granite building in the world after the Escorial Palace in Spain. Aberdeen’s St. Machar's Cathedral dates back to the 12th century and is home to the only surviving example of a Celtic-style round tower in Scotland.
