In this edition of the Geopolitics Observatory, we decipher the phenomenon we call 'Tariflavio': the contradictory economic agenda of the opposition which, under the guise of liberalism, flirts with tailor-made sectoral taxes and lobbying. We analyze how Flávio Bolsonaro and his political group navigate between the public discourse of 'lower taxes' and the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that favors specific customs tariffs, casino lobbying, gambling, and the handing over of critical minerals. We will discuss the impact of this ambiguous stance on Brazilian fiscal policy and how the creation of 'tailor-made tariffs' serves the interests of international capital at the expense of national industry.
