Tasting the Sweetness of Faith - Yahya Rhodus

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "There are three qualities that whoever possesses will taste the sweetness of faith: to love Allah and His Messenger more than anyone else, to love someone for Allah’s sake alone, and to hate falling into disbelief as much as one would hate being cast into the fire." (Narrated in Bukhari & Muslim) These qualities—the love of Allah and His Messenger above all, loving for the sake of Allah, and the deep revulsion for disbelief—are not separate from the state of those true lovers. Rather, they are intertwined with their deep yearning for the Prophet ﷺ, who leads them to the highest station of faith, where the sweetness of belief becomes a reality felt in the heart. To love for Allah and His Messenger is to walk the path of the Prophet ﷺ, whose life, actions, and love embody the sweetness of faith itself. May we strive to be among those who, through devotion and sincerity, taste this sweetness and find tranquility in their hearts. . . .
