How To Rig a Double Wrap Speargun | ADRENO

Adreno's Sam Cox gives a simple tutorial in rigging a double wrap on a speargun. Double wrap spearguns give you that bit of extra range. When considering whether to convert your speargun to a double wrap however, it is important to consider the effective shooting distance of your speargun given its current power. Having a double wrap of mono-line on a speargun that doesn't have the shooting power to make the distance accurately can be frustrating and futile. Double wraps are useful if you do have a very powerful speargun that could benefit from a bit of extra range. For this conversion you’ll need some crimp, mono, a lighter, crimping pliers and scissors. Start by putting the spear into the gun as a reference point for measuring your crimping points. Take the mono and slide a crimp on and ensure that the crimp is not too close to the neck as this can cause the shaft to jam. Once this is good, burn a bulge in the mono next to your crimp as a backup point incase it fails and then clamp your crimp at each end and the center. Feed the mono underneath the rubbers and through the muzzle and then back down the muzzle line guide and around the line release and back up to the muzzle of the gun and back again to the line release. Finally, run the line back to the snap clip at the muzzle. At this point add your final crimp. Ensure that the length is right before you make this final crimp, and then trim excess mono.
