A supermarket employee in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo state, was arrested after being caught stealing money from the cash register. Elisângela was identified through the store's security cameras and confessed to the crime during a police intervention. The supermarket owner estimates that the embezzled money amounts to approximately R$ 100,000. The captured images show the employee hiding banknotes in her clothing while performing the daily closing of the cash register. The scheme is estimated to have generated monthly losses between R$ 10,000 and R$ 20,000 over time.
