Asia's ONLY Latin City! Zamboanga City, Philippines 🇵🇭

My last stop in my Mindanao journey takes me to Zamboanga city, known as The Philippines Latin city as it's kept hold of many Spanish colonial features, including the language, making it Asia's only Latin city. I wanted to see if Zamboanga City is worth visiting. The Philippines was colonised by Spain for over 300 years, from the food to the architecture and to the language it left a huge imprint on the country. Zamboanga specifically was able to keep hold of its Latin heritage. I started at the town hall, a beautiful Spanish-style building, built by the Americans over 100 years ago and then headed to Fort Pilar, an incredible Spanish Era fort, built to protect the city from Moro invaders. Zamboanga City and West Mindanao don't have a very good reputation, this is due to previous issues of unrest but I felt perfectly safe. Be sure to plan any trips with the local authorities and execute caution. I ended the trip by checking out Paseo Del Mar, a reclaimed piece of land full of bars and restaurants.
