Editor's Opinon: Finally, we have the Galar champion himself, the shamelessly cool and irrepressible strongest trainer; Leon! Kai Jordan in Twilight Wings lays a decent foundation, as far as non-British voices go. He gets down Leon’s friendly, confident aspects fairly well, has a nice swagger in his tone. My only issue with Jordan is he needed to sound deeper/more authority in his tone, and I don’t really buy him as the strongest trainer if I’m honest. Overall: Kai Jordan delivers a satisfactory performance. Cedric Williams, as is par for the course in Masters EX does at least attempt an accent…a vaguely reminiscent dialect one would mistake for a British accent. I'll be frank here, Leon is a cool, larger-than-life champion trainer, but I don’t get that at all with this casting. Williams doesn’t have a commanding presence or authority you’d expect Leon to have, and his performance is average Masters EX fare that we've heard before. I never imagined I would be putting the British voice last in my rankings, but here we are. I wouldn't say Cedric Williams as Leon was the worst English voices in the game or anything, just a very disappointing one. Aleks Le draws the short straw for material, playing Leon in Evolutions. The deeper voice he uses was nice, sounding like someone you don't want to mess with, which somewhat makes up for sounding a little bit young in the role. Overall: Aleks Le was serviceable. Alejandro Saab always had an advantage of playing Leon in Journeys. The champion was given a big role in the anime just like the games, and Saab proved to be inspired casting. He’s got the passion, the suave coolness, the humility, the fierce competitiveness and the caring mentor aspects all down. When Leon needed to be caring or likable, Saab was charming. When Leon needed to take charge of situations, Saab commanded authority. The few nitpicks I have with his take, notably his breathy delivery style, are like teardrops in an ocean of positives I have about his performance. Saab is playing the role of his life, and he relishes every moment as the champion trainer. Overall: Alejandro Saab is having a Champion time, delivering one of the standout performances in the Journeys anime. With that, I have to say Alejandro Saab is without question my favorite English voice for the champion Leon!
