Kirsten Flagstad - Immolation Scene (Berlin Concert, 1952)

Rare concert performance of Brünnhilde's Immolation scene from Götterdämmerung (1952), remastered in great quality. The same night she also performed excerpts from Elektra, Tristan und Isolde, and Der fliegende Holländer. I do not think this performance has been uploaded before but may be wrong. The concert took place at an outdoor venue so Flagstad wasn't afraid to fully unleash her giant voice, which was still in magnificent health in her 57th year of age. One of the most remarkable Immolation scenes ever recorded for sure. Conductor - Georges Sébastian
