The Tacugama Story
Bala Amarasekaran, founder and director of Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, discusses Tacugama's origins in 1995 and growth over 25 years to the internationally recognized wildlife conservation institution it is today. More than just a home for orphaned chimpanzees, Tacugama is Sierra Leone's leading conservation organization involved in education and sensitization, alternative livelihoods, community development and conservation-based wildlife research.
