A Race and Power Conversation with Environmental Justice Experts
Challenges to the environment disproportionately affect communities of color. Have healthy environments become a privilege? In this session we discuss the environmental justice movement. On Jan 25 at 6:15pm, Professor Brian Lowery talks with two environmental justice expert Leslie Field of the Sierra Club and long time environmentalist advocate Tamara Toles O'Laughlin formerly of 350.org. They discuss the disproportionate negative impact of our economy on communities of color. This event is part of a weekly series of conversations with prominent leaders that aims to deepen our collective awareness of the role of race in the United States and around the world. We will discuss how race interacts with structures of power and how systemic racism manifests itself in institutions and our daily lives. Register here: https://gsb-courses.stanford.edu/lead...
