The Electric Trolly System Across Susquehannock Sanctuary: Lancaster PA “Castle”, Oldest Photographs
Howdy ya’ll. Today we will look through over 150 Old World Photographs of Lancaster, PA. These majority pre-1930 photographs will showcase the advanced architecture, and in this case, the advanced technology of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. About halfway through the video, after discussing the history of Lancaster as the Capital Fort of The Susquehannock, we will begin our deep dive into the seemingly hundreds of unique trolleys which interconnected Lancaster. Through wilderness, to the Big City, to the smaller towns in Greater Lancaster County, it appears through the early 1900’s we had an adventurous trolley system which helped unite the area. We will also look at the longest covered bridge in the world (up until that point in history), which was built in Lancaster in 1812. We will help invigorate our research with unique and many unseen photographs of Lancaster. Enjoy!
