Front and Side CAP EMBROIDERY - 3 DESIGNS in one RUN | FREE Embroidery Design (EMB Hub Ep116)
On this episode of Embroidery Hub, Willy shows you how to embroider multiple designs on a cap in different places WITHOUT RE-HOOPING YOUR CAP. Using the 270-degree cap rotation feature, you’ll be able to embroider a design that covers the front AND sides of your cap in one run. Most people do not know about this feature, but being able to embroider a small logo or signature on the sides can increase the value of your cap. Then, when you combine the increased cap value with our machine’s ability to do these multiple designs on the cap without stopping—saving time on hooping—you have a powerful combination that will make you a bit more money on each cap with very little added effort. Now, not all machines offer this capability. If you have one of the following models, 1501-TC MT-1501, MT-1502, SWD or CHT2 Wide, you’ll be able to complete this project. For this tutorial, we will be using a cap design we made for our upcoming DecoSummit event in October. You can download the design below to follow along. To learn more about the event and to purchase tickets, click the link below! When it comes to digitizing this kind of design, the first thing you have to do is make sure you have the correct cap hoop selected. This hoop should be 270 by 90 millimeters. If you do not have this as one of your preset hoops, you can create a custom hoop with these dimensions. Then measure your cap and determine where you want to place the designs. Using these measurements, you can then use the ruler tool in your digitizing software to place the designs in the correct positions on the hoop we created. The key is to make sure that you have all your designs in one single file. That way, the machine will treat them as one design and embroider all of them in one run without stopping. For digitizing, we used our own software called Chroma Digitizing Software. You can learn more about it in the link below. Now it’s time to hoop the cap. Since we need the front and sides of the cap to be covered on the inside of the cap, cut your 2 pieces of tear-away in longer strips. Do not to secure the cap with metal binder clips just yet. After placing the caps on the machine, turn the pantograph all the way to the right using the arrow keys on the panel. This will allow you to flatten out the fabric on the side of the cap and then you can use binder clips to secure it in place. After that, turn the pantograph all the way to the left and repeat this process. In this video, we will also be doing a 3D puff design. To learn more about this watch our video on it by clicking the link below. Once you fire up the machine it will embroider the front log first, then turn to one side and do the smaller Ricoma logo and then turn all the way to the opposite side and do the date. Last, the machine will bring the cap back to the center so that you can place the foam for the 3D puff portion of the embroidery. If you have followed all the steps the machine will embroider all three designs without issue or need to rehoop! Download the free DecoSummit cap design here: https://hoopmade.com/designs/Embroide...
