3 Days in İzmir, Turkey: What to see, eat & do

In late 2024, I decided to visit Izmir, a vibrant city on Turkey’s west coast, not far from the Aegean Sea. Izmir is not only Türkiye's third-largest city but also one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from all over the world. In this vlog, I explored Izmir’s diverse neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and local cuisine over three days and share my best travel tips with you so that you can make your trip to Izmir unforgettable. We’ll start in Izmir’s charming neighborhood of Alsancak. From there, I'll take you through the bustling streets of the Old Bazaar, filled with restaurants, cafés, and market shops. Here, I found all kinds of different local foods, from desserts and pastries to delicious bakery items—and of course, I will try some of them and show you. Next on my itinerary is Izmir’s famous clock tower, one of the most iconic symbols of the city. Then, I'll take you to the up-and-coming neighborhood of Bornova and Izmir’s historic elevator building, which serves as a unique link to neighboring districts. From here, we’ll enjoy beautiful views over the city and the nearby Aegean Sea. After exploring Izmir, I'll leave the city and travel to the nearby Milli Park, just outside of Izmir. Together, we'll explore national park's enchanting Cave of Zeus, a natural wonder right next to Turkey’s beautiful coastline.
