T. Bag and the Rings of Olympus S7E5 (1991) - FULL EPISODE

Vampires. Polly finds herself in Transylvania on Hallowe'en while on the quest for the next gold ring. What could possibly go wrong? Meanwhile, Granny Bag (Denise Coffey) makes her first appearance in the whole series as she drops in to visit T-Bag and T-Shirt, playing a few of her trademark practical jokes on the way. This episode was first broadcast on Monday, 4th February, 1991 (before Halloween lost its apostrophe - you can't say I don't strive for that full retro flavour on my channel!) and features Gavin Richards as Count Igor Von Fledermause. Gavin played the recurring character Brett Douglas in the early years of Mike and Angelo, was Alex Christie in Coronation Street, and racked up over 400 credits as Terry in EastEnders. However, if you're sure you recognise him but can't quite place him, by far Gavin's most famous role is that of Captain Alberto Bertorelli in 'Allo 'Allo. There are some very funny lines in this one ("Party pooper"/"I'll be whatever kind of pooper I like" particularly tickled me), and the contingency plan involving the sausages is just so silly that you can't help but laugh. (And that's not to mention the very much non-CGI bat special effects.) But the dark nature of this particular episode, coupled with T-Bag's amazing disguise, give it a tone that sets it aside from the rest of the series. Also, the rather permanent nature of Polly's solution to the problems at hand took me a little by surprise. You'll see what I mean. Meanwhile, look out for a little bit of Children's ITV continuity featuring Jeanne Downs and Scally. I've left on the bit at the end, even though I have no idea what was going on there. Many thanks to Lee for providing this recording. (This is a transfer from an old videotape, so please don't expect full HD quality. To the best of my knowledge, this material is not available commercially anywhere in the world, and has been uploaded for its historic interest.
