Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has come under fresh criticism after comments made against AP Sadhu Parishat leaders sparked controversy. AP Sadhu Parishat Honorary President Atluri Narayana strongly reacted to Bhumana’s allegations that black-ticket sales were taking place on Tirumala hill and challenged him to an open discussion on the issue of seva tickets. Narayana also accused Bhumana of being anti-Hindu and called for accountability over his remarks. AP Sadhu Parishat President Srinivasananda Saraswati also condemned Bhumana’s statements, particularly his comments describing some swamijis as political workers carrying party flags. He questioned why Bhumana had remained silent when several temples reportedly faced attacks during the previous YSRCP government and stated that making baseless allegations against religious leaders was unacceptable. Meanwhile, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy appeared before Tirupati East Police Station for questioning in connection with the Shani idol controversy. Police reportedly questioned him for nearly four and a half hours regarding statements he made about the Shani idol near Alipiri. Bhumana maintained that he stood by his comments and indicated he had nothing to retract. The controversy began after TTD officials accused him of spreading misinformation regarding alleged disrespect to the idol and hurting the sentiments of devotees. Based on a complaint filed by TTD Deputy Executive Officer Govindaraju, police registered a case and issued notices to Bhumana.
