"Paddington meets Mr. Gruber, who keeps an antique shop in Portobello Road. Mr. Gruber tells him about old masters and that they are sometimes discovered under modern paintings. Paddington cleans one of Mr. Brown s paintings and finds nothing underneath. He repaints the picture with marmalade and it wins first prize in a local show much to Mr. Brown s annoyance."
