The Riemann integral is a fundamental concept in calculus that provides a way to measure the area under a curve defined by a function over a closed interval [𝑎,𝑏]. It is named after the mathematician Bernhard Riemann. Concept: To define the Riemann integral of a function 𝑓(𝑥) on the interval [𝑎,𝑏] we partition the interval into 𝑛 subintervals of width Δ𝑥𝑖 and choose sample points 𝑥𝑖∗within each subinterval.
