Bead Crochet Tutorial Series, Video 2: Stitch Overview

This is the second in a series of six demonstration videos showing how to make a bead crochet rope bracelet. It is a companion to the book Crafting Conundrums: Puzzles and Patterns for the Bead Crochet Artist, by Ellie Baker and Susan Goldstine, available in December 2014 from A K Peters/CRC Press. The book's website is http://www.crcpress.com/product/isbn/..., and its Facebook page is   / craftingconundrums  . Go to    • Bead Crochet Tutorial Series, Video 1: Bea...   for a playlist of the entire video series. Our thanks to Andrew Paul Keiper and Justin Foreman from the St. Mary's College of Maryland Library Media Center, who helped produce this video series. In this video, you will learn the bead crochet slip stitch, which makes up most of the bead crochet process. You will also see how to manage your strand of beads while you crochet and how to store a bead crochet rope in progress when you want to take a break. We show the stitch using both large 9mm plastic craft beads and smaller size 8 glass seed beads. If you don't have a friend who can start a bead crochet rope for you, you will need to also watch the third video in the series (   • Bead Crochet Tutorial Series, Video 3: Sta...  ) on starting a bracelet, but please watch this video first (or at least the first four minutes) to make sure you understand how the stitches work before you begin. Our video series demonstrates the bead crochet slip stitch, which is one of two techniques for bead crochet rope and the one we use in our book. The other type of bead crochet rope uses crochet single stitch and is not included here. A photo tutorial for this version is posted at http://www.fofinhas-perlenstuebchen.d.... The Ann Benson bead crochet demonstration with animations that I mention here is    • Bead Crochet Mastering the Beaded Rope wit...  .
