Death - Flattening Of Emotions (Drums)

This is the first cover I've ever recorded without playing along to the original track. Instead, I recorded the drums on their own and synced the original song to my performance afterward. Why did I do it this way? There are two reasons: First, Sean Reinert speeds up so much in certain sections that I simply can't keep up with him. Second, there's a general issue with older music that was recorded without a click track: the tempo is constantly changing. When those tempo changes are as sudden and unpredictable as they are on this album, it's simply very awkward to play along to and honestly I'm not even sure what the point of trying is. After one unsuccessful recording session (which, to be fair, happens to me quite often) I decided that instead of me playing along to Death, Death would play along to me :) After all, chopping up and time-stretching the original recording to fit my already-recorded drum track isn't a problem for me. I might come back to this album someday. At the very least, I'd like to give Lack of Comprehension a try. But the main thing is that I've finally checked Human off my bucket list. It's difficult, but definitely possible!
