Santa Monica Muscle Beach Traveling Rings

The traveling rings are one of the main attractions at the historic Muscle Beach in Santa Monica. Widely regarded as the birthplace of the fitness movement, Muscle Beach has been an integral part of the history of Santa Monica since 1934. Over the years, millions have gathered to watch the athletic skills of the Muscle Beach regulars. And the tradition continues today with a diverse group of athletes who continue to develop the sport in the same way that skateboarding evolved from the early days of Dogtown right down the street. This music video, shot and edited by Robert Chapin in the summer of 2005, is intended to showcase the rings, the talent, and the community to other cities who may be interested in building their own structures.
