North East is a good spot to Railfan because the CSX mainline tracks and the Norfolk Southern tracks are just feet from each other so you don’t miss any of the action and they get all the same Trains that Buffalo gets, plus a few others from Canada. They also have a nice Railfan museum (including retired locomotives you can go up into) and a patio with a canopy so you can watch the trains go by and stay drier in inclement weather.
