You never know what you're gonna get, or where we’re gonna be!! Storm cleanup at home continues, and I am SO excited to see the Cliff Cabin's transformation with my favourite FREE stain! This is a rather common way people re-use motor oil, and has been used for generations. I found that my ratio of 65/35 or 60/40 oil to diesel fuel was good! It went on well and seemed to penetrate the wood nicely. It will lighten as it dries and ages, but I am really liking how it looks. I really just wanted to get something on that siding ASAP to prevent any more greying, and we have an abundance of use oil around, and some diesel fuel too! This will preserve the siding for years, and help with rodent and bug infiltration too. At the main cabin, all I can say is I just love that place! It was such a nice afternoon/evening and the dips in the lake were wonderful. The water is still pretty cold, but very refreshing. So thankful to have the ride-on mower because the weeds just take over and make the place feel so desolate. Just mowing down those weeds on the roads and paths makes it look so much more civilized! Clearly I'll be back to finish the back wall, and the gable ends. Then the soffits, fascia and rain barrels need doing. I'm getting there! What do you think of the oil stain??
