BACKSTORY: I've said it before, I'll say it again. Having Liz Callaway sing your music is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. It was the moment I defined myself as 'making it.' Here was someone I looked up to. Someone whom got me through so many situations in my life, just by the tone in her voice. And now, here she is, singing one of my songs. 'Goodnight' is the last song in 'Piece,' but it has a very personal story behind it, as many of my songs do. My cousins boyfriend passed away from A.I.D.S. I remember speaking to my cousin on the phone and asking him 'what does one say to someone who knows, in a few minutes, they will be gone ?' His answer ? Nothing !!! You just hold them in your arms, kiss them as many times as you can, and let them go. I wrote 'Goodnight' for this reason. I wanted to find the perfect words to say to someone, to let them know of all the beautiful things they will once again experience in there life. Having the most angelic voice sing a song about angels ... well, who could ask for a better pairing ?
