TITLE “Hormone Therapy in Transgender People” SPEAKER Dr. Elbio Genovesi Reproductive Endocrinology and Diversity Section Hospital de Clínicas - UBA ABSTRACT In recent years, greater recognition has been achieved in Argentina, allowing for advocacy of new rights, including the legal recognition of gender identity. In May 2012, Argentina passed Gender Identity Law No. 26,743, which guarantees the free development of individuals according to their gender identity, regardless of whether or not it corresponds to the sex assigned at birth. Therefore, this seminar will address the topics of Argentine legislation on Gender Identity and its impact on health, as well as hormone therapy in adult transgender people: regimens used, expected changes, adverse effects, and contraindications.
