Things to do off-resort in CAYO SANTA MARIA, Cuba! (Everything you need to know before you go) 🇨🇺

What's there to do off-resort in Cayo Santa Maria? Not a whole lot, evidently. Apart from the beautiful resorts and beaches, you won't find a whole lot to occupy your time, but there are a few interesting diversions. During my stay at the Hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria, I decided to take the local Panoramic Bus, which ran on a sporadic schedule (in theory every 90 minutes) ferrying tourists from one resort to another, and calling at two tourist highlights: the ultra-kitschy Pueblo la Estrella 'village' and the excellent Delfinario (dolphin center). Pueblo la Estrella was a complete fail, with most businesses and restaurants mysteriously closed (this would likely be different in high season vs. the shoulder season when I visited, but no promises). I enjoyed some great views of the coast, though, and checked out the few souvenier stalls that were set up, before heading to the delfinario in a stunning Pink Cadillac ($10). Once at the dolphin center, I enjoyed a local beer on the waterfront and checked out the daily dolphin show (highly recommended, and a steal at only $5 USD entry). Apart from the maddeningly slow and unreliable "panoramic bus", I had a fun day off-resort in Cayo Santa Maria before heading back to Canada. Do you have any questions about Cayo Santa Maria?
