In this video, I take on the challenge of bringing a broken Nintendo GameCube back to life, adding a modern twist with the Team OffBroadway FlippyDrive ODE for a disc-free experience. This Optical Drive Emulator allows games to be loaded directly from an SD card, which not only keeps the console running smoothly but also helps preserve the original hardware. To give it a distinctive look, I’ve swapped the original casing for a bright acid yellow shell. This project combines the satisfaction of restoring old tech with the fun of customisation, making it a little different from your average Junk Nintendo GameCube repair! In this video, you’ll see everything from finding the reason the console was thrown out, the repair, FlippyDrive ODE installation to the final touches with the custom shell.
