Le récit de Rémi Lafargue sur Hendaye - Strasbourg (HS pour les intimes)

In this episode of Diagonalistes, Rémi Lafargue recounts his Hendaye–Strasbourg Diagonal, completed entirely self-supported at the end of October. Five days of stark contrasts: an emotional family departure, a bright first day in the Landes region, followed by a demanding crossing of the Lot, the Dordogne, and especially the Massif Central in rain, cold, and fog. Rémi shares the encounters that sustained him, such as those with Gilbert, then Patrice and Gilles, fellow members of the Saar group who joined him on the route. He also talks about the doubts, the route-finding errors, the short nights, the frozen hands, the treacherous descents, and the kilometers covered in the downpour. Driven by mental strength, perseverance, and the desire to finish, he finally reached Strasbourg under a beautiful sun, where he was welcomed by Jocelyne. An autumnal Diagonale, demanding but splendid, experienced in humility and the simple joy of reaching the end of the road.
