Wheelchair Accessible Taxis - Educational Video

The Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) is committed to ensuring taxi services are safe, responsive and meet the transport needs of the community, including people with a disability. Wheelchair accessible taxis (WATs) are an essential form of transport for people in wheelchairs and licence conditions require that they give priority to wheelchair bookings. Drivers of WATs have a number of obligations with regards to loading and transporting people in wheelchairs and scooters to ensure that they travel safely and comfortably at all times. To assist drivers of wheelchair accessible taxis, and to inform passengers who use these vehicles about the level of service they should expect, the VTD has produced this educational video.
