River Tyne fishing | a change of plan saves the session

After arriving at Roker Pier with high hopes of a few mackerel, the strong northerly winds had other ideas! 🌊 The sea was far too rough, and after speaking to anglers who’d been fishing all morning without a single mackerel, we decided it was time for Plan B. A quick dash home to swap the gear and pick up some bait saw us heading to the River Tyne, fishing the International Paints mark in Gateshead. Thankfully, the move paid off and everyone managed to catch! 🎣 Adam landed 1 flounder and 2 common eels. 🎣 Martin, Matty and myself all managed a common eel each. 🦀 I even managed mine on frozen crab… definitely not what I was expecting! Sometimes fishing is all about adapting to the conditions, and although the original plan didn’t work out, we still managed to avoid a blank and had a good laugh along the way.
