Pokémon Blue: Rival Name String Memory Overflow: the explanation (somewhat)

Rival name buffer Overflow glitch. Pokémon Blue. Idk if this has been talked about at all Some claims may be incorrect. #glitch #pokemon #rival #buffer #overflow #corruption Pokémon Red/Blue. Where we talk about using the rivals infinite name, made from Item Underflow, plus an Item that has the rivals name in it, to cause a rare corruption that doesn’t crash the game, unlike when you normally click it. This corruption corrupts trainers Pokémon, as well as where you’re put when you’re in the Overworld. Catching Pokémon makes a crash on the nickname screen. Using 9F can do various things, but one leading to being teleported to a Glitch City (Route 21 glitch city), with a diffrent filter and walk Through walls if you jump off a ledge after this effect. Unlike Superglitch and ZZAZZ, it doesn’t corrupt the players Pokemon. Wild Pokémon allow for the menu in the Glitch city to be opened, and that can let us see the RESET is replaced with the save button, usually only used in the Cable Club. Pairing Rival buffer with Superglitch, an overflow can happen when Superglitch uses the string in its move name, and with the correct actions acterwards, we can cause a Trainer fly like effect. The thing that causes the game to stop is a 0x50 in VRAM. I do not think this was discovered by me.
