I really wanted the Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb to be the one—the perfect amp for small gigs, rehearsal or playing at home. And in a lot of ways, it’s awesome and so so close! But after spending the past year and 1/2 with it, and continually thinking about different mods to do to the amp, I realized (with the help of my wife who is much smarter than me!) it’s just not for me. Let's look at what’s great about this amp, what’s not, and why I ultimately decided to move on.
