An Evening Aboard Titanic | “Destiny” – Sidney Baynes (Titanic Music Series 2026)
What did music sound like aboard RMS Titanic in April 1912? "Destiny", by Sidney Baynes, was released in 1912. This music reflects the atmosphere of the ship's public rooms during her maiden voyage. This exclusive performance by The White Star Line Quintet is part of our forthcoming album with them for HFX Studios, and is presented here for the first time as part of Titanic Season 2026 on The Steam & Splendor Network. Performed using historically informed arrangements by professional musicians, and recorded with the piano from Titanic's sister ship, RMS Olympic, these recordings aim to recreate the authentic musical experience aboard Titanic. ----- The White Star Line Quintet was founded to support the efforts of The RMS Olympic Steinway Association to purchase, preserve, and place on public display the very piano from Olympic that you see and hear in this video. If you would like to support their efforts, you can either leave a "thanks" in the comments section of this video (which will be forwarded to the Association directly), or follow this link for more information: https://www.rmsolympicpiano.com/en/co... ----- This video is part of our ongoing Titanic Music Series, featuring previously-unreleased recordings released through the anniversary season. Subscribe to The Steam & Splendor Network for more Titanic history, music, and immersive recreations, brought to you by a team of historians and authors with decades of experience bringing Titanic's history back to life. #Titanic #RMSTitanic #TitanicMusic #WhiteStarLine #EdwardianMusic #SteamAndSplendor #Titanic2026
