Today, we get to test out the brand new Kali Audio IN-5 Coincident Studio Monitors! The IN-5 is a new 3-way studio monitor with a 5-inch woofer, and concentric midrange, and a 1-inch tweeter. Before we get into more details, we are also lucky enough to get to give away THREE pairs of these amazing monitors! The IN-5 is part of Kali’s “Independence” line of 3-way studio monitors, which also includes the larger IN-8. The IN-5 is more than just a “little brother” to the IN-8, though. This monitor is the result of a year’s worth of research and development by the Kali Audio team. The IN-5 introduces a new amplifier platform that reduces self-noise by 12 dB, and implements a more powerful DSP section, which allows for a smoother high frequency response. Kali has also updated the cones on the woofer and the midrange driver with new materials for greater reliability. These monitors bring an innovative design that delivers exceptional accuracy in all sorts of recording, mixing, and production applications.
