Our journey from Sulawesi to Maluku, initially estimated to take only 10 days, turned into 12 days at sea. Upon entering the Banda Sea, we encountered large waves and strong currents that prevented the ship from maintaining normal speed. These conditions forced us to change course for safety, and the journey took longer than planned. As the days passed, food supplies on board began to dwindle, while we still had to survive at sea in adverse weather conditions. Most memorable of all, this journey took place during Eid al-Fitr. Far from our families, we celebrated Eid al-Fitr at sea, despite all the limitations. This is a true story of a sailor's life, full of challenges, uncertainties, and struggles on the high seas.
