As a solution to have weapon select on the right sticks directional input, I use the Playstation custom button assignment to swap L1 with R2. So in game my weapon wheel is R2 and weapon mod is L1, but with custom button assignments it's swapped. - This only concerns players who use my control scheme. Use whatever is most comfortable.
