In this episode of Casa+, I'm heading to Comporta, Portugal, to discover a very special seaside home completely renovated by architect Rita Valadão. Owned by Patrícia Oliveira, founder of It Tables, Casa da Influência has been reborn after an extensive renovation. The aim of the project was to create a unique holiday home that is elegant, warm, and strongly connected to the natural spirit of its surroundings. Beige tones, lime-based surfaces, microcement, natural woods, travertine, plant fibers, hand-woven carpets from Alentejo, and lighting imported from Morocco give the home a distinctive atmosphere. At first glance, everything seems simple, but behind every detail lies careful selection and a strong design sensibility. During the tour of the house, Rita explains the challenges they faced during the renovation process, which elements of the existing structure they preserved, and how they strengthened the connection between the interior and exterior spaces. The project also includes a pool, deck area, spa, outdoor dining area, barbecue area, and suites, each with its own unique character. This house brings together architecture, memories, travels, art, and design. Above all, it demonstrates how elegant natural materials, textures, and seemingly imperfect details can be.
